Jersey is one of the Channel Islands, a group of islands which despite their location 14 miles off the north coast of France belong to the UK. This tiny island measures just nine miles by five but manages to house a population of over 100,000. Owing to the small size of the island the sea is visible from almost anywhere, and the delightful lanes are just one facet of the islands charm. The only part of the UK to ever be occupied during WWII there is also a fascinating history to Jersey, which is presented in several museums dotted around the island. It's also famous for the 1980's detective series Bergerac with John Nettles.
