We visited Guilin for a few short days in 2006. It's well known for its spectacular scenery with Karsts, limestone peaks, lining the banks of the picturesque Li river. We took a river cruise down the Li (which was overly touristy and I got food poisoning, but the scenary was still worth it) and visited the Reed Flute cave. We also went bamboo rafting which was very relaxing and gave a great opportunity to enjoy the dramatic scenery.
